Lean In: Letting Go & Surrendering to God's Timing
People have been asking what's new with me, and my answer has been: "saying goodbye to good things."
I'd stepped down as a youth leader at my church, said no to our missions trip, and stepped away from coaching and playing soccer — roles that had shaped my identity and held some of the biggest desires of my heart for years.
I know many of you can relate. It's hard saying no to good things. I was tempted to hold all of it tightly, unsure of what it would look like to let go. And did I really trust God to give it back to me? This was my real lesson in surrendering to God's timing instead of my own.
Sitting in that strange place with empty hands, I knew the Lord was calling me near. He wanted me to rest in Him, and to know who I am in Him before anything else.
Is the Lord calling you to say goodbye to a good thing right now? Do you trust Him with it? What would it look like for you to draw near to God in the letting go?
