The House That Knew Me: My Exodus Into Something New

If you read my last blog post you would know I took some courageous steps to begin my journey out of the place I had been and into a new land.
Well I have arrived. I completed my Exodus. And now that I am on the other side of this Red Sea, I would like to tell you just how God did it.
The day before Thanksgiving I saw 4 properties. The second one was "It".
I remember walking into it and immediately feeling like I was home. As I walked through the living room to the back balcony overlooking the pond I started to get emotional knowing this was my home and wishing my dad could be here.
My realtor told me when we first met, that finding my house would be like finding my forever partner. That you will just know.
I kinda brushed off her comment as I personally struggled with finding that feeling in my dating life. Being recently single, I didn't want to think about that feeling or lack of one I had been experiencing.
But when I walked into that home that day, I knew the feeling that she was talking about.
We immediately put in an offer on and on Friday morning after Thanksgiving. I got word that they accepted my offer. I officially got a Black Friday house.
I was through the roof excited and ready to move through the process. We set up my home inspection the following day on Saturday and it passed with flying colors.
Then I headed out of town to Kansas City to watch the NCAA Women's Final Four soccer tournament with my friends. On my way down I got a call from my realtor saying that a cash offer had come in on the house. Immediately a wave of disappointment fell over me. How could this happen? How could I have come so far just to be hit with this dead end.
I hung up the phone and started to cry asking God to make a way.
A couple days later I found out another cash offer was made. I felt hopeless.
Moving through the inspection phase. It was clear they were going to move forward with my offer! Praise God.
But now here's the next road block. The HOA had sued an insurance agency regarding damages to the roofs of their buildings and despite the case being settled they had no quotes on the specific damages and cost to fix the roof on my unit.
And without these documents, no mortgage company was willing to take me on. They ended up having to outsource my mortgage to a larger national bank in hopes they would take me.
And finally, right before Christmas I got the call that the mortgage lender would take me. My attorney, original mortgage officer and realtor were screaming on the phone when they told me. All their hard work escalated the issue and God found a way.
My realtor even called me and told me it's like God parted the Red Sea for me. I couldn't have agreed more.Â
