Have you ever noticed a pattern in your life that seemed too perfect to be a coincidence? For me, that pattern has always been the number 26. Turning 26 feels like standing on the edge of something significant. It’s more than just a birthday—it’s a milestone, a turning point, a call to step forward with purpose. And fittingly, today also happens to be National Hug a G.I. Day (March 4th), a day that carries a subtle but powerful message: March forth.

That phrase feels deeply personal. It’s not just about supporting those who serve—it’s a command to move forward, to embrace what’s ahead with confidence and courage. Looking back, my journey has been filled with transitions, challenges, and unexpected twists, yet every step has prepared me for the next.
The Number That Followed Me
From soccer jerseys to life milestones, the number 26 has been a constant companion. I never planned it that way, but somehow, every team I played for led me to finish with jersey #26. From #20 at TCSA to #26 at NSA, #23 at Geneva High to #26 at Wheaton Academy, and #22 at Trinity Christian to #26 at Grace—the pattern is undeniable.
But it wasn’t just about the number. Each transition, each new team, wasn’t just a change in environment—it was a promotion. Every move put me in a better position to grow, to refine my skills, and to become a stronger version of myself. The lessons, the teammates, and the challenges shaped me. And now, at 26, I see that same pattern in life itself.
A Year of Divine Timing
This past year has been a whirlwind. I lost my job in March—my birthday month—and exactly 360 days later, I received an offer for a new one. A full-circle moment. A 360-degree turnaround. A clear reminder of God’s perfect timing and provision.
It’s as if God is saying, “This is a new season I have for you.” It’s a call to step out of the past and into something better—something He’s prepared for me.
Walking with Integrity, Trusting the Process
Psalm 26 has also been a meaningful connection to this journey:"Vindicate me, Lord, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the Lord and have not faltered."
This verse isn’t about perfection—it’s about integrity and trust. It’s about walking in faith, believing that God sees our hearts, and knowing He honors those who follow Him. For me, that means embracing the process, trusting His plan, and stepping forward with confidence.
Hebrews 12:1-3 echoes this call:"Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith."
Life isn’t about standing still. It’s about running the race. Pushing forward. Throwing off what holds us back. And keeping our eyes on the One who leads us.
Owning the Journey, Moving Forward
At 26, I realize that every challenge, every transition, every unexpected turn has led me here for a reason. Just like that soccer jersey, I’ve ended up here with purpose.
So, here’s to 26. Here’s to embracing the journey, owning the lessons, and marching forth into what’s next. Because this isn’t just another year—it’s the start of something greater.
March forth. So what’s your ‘26’? What moments in your life have been preparing you for something greater? Whatever it is, march forth with confidence—God has already paved the way.
